PEACE is focused on strengthening grassroots organisations in Uttar Pradesh by supporting the development of Field-based organisations (FBOs) across Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. We aim to enhance these organisations’ capacity to raise community issues strategically, based on constitutional values, and to build more effective and inclusive structures. This is achieved through a comprehensive process of organisational development, leadership building, and strategic planning, with an emphasis on creating democratic internal processes and developing leadership teams with fair gender representation. PEACE engages with both existing networks and new organisations working on issues affecting marginalised communities. A need assessment guides the selection of FBOs, with the goal of ensuring that they are able to effectively advocate for the rights of vulnerable groups and contribute to social change. The program includes a series of workshops and follow-up tasks, alongside a process of ongoing accompaniment, where organisations apply what they have learned in their local contexts. The overarching objective is to foster stronger, more inclusive, and constitutionally aligned organisations that can better serve their communities.
