The Community Learning Centre (CLC), run by PEACE, is located in Bawana, an industrial resettlement colony in Delhi. The Centre is primarily focused on education and empowerment of girls from marginalized families, reaching nearly 3,000 low-income households where most parents work as daily wage labourers or domestic workers.
Currently, around 150 children mostly girls regularly participate in the Centre’s programs, which include tuition support, self-study sessions, library and book bank access, and co-curricular activities such as sports, music, arts and crafts, and skill-building classes like sewing.
Beyond academics, the Centre fosters holistic development through structured sessions on life skills, gender equality, health, and nutrition, along with youth leadership workshops and community engagement initiatives. A small-scale urban farming and kitchen gardening program also trains girls and women to grow nutritious food in limited spaces, linking education with health and sustainability.
Through its scientific approach and systematic monitoring, the CLC empowers girls to become confident, self-reliant, and socially aware leaders, providing a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space for learning, questioning, and leadership development.
