Announcement of the Anil Chaudhary Research Fellowship on Political Economy 2025

We are delighted to announce that Mr. Rohin Kumar has been selected as the first recipient of the Anil Chaudhary Research Fellowship on Political Economy for 2025.
Rohin Kumar is a distinguished author, journalist, and committed climate justice practitioner. His work has consistently bridged the struggles of grassroots communities with national and global policy discourses, bringing the voices of the marginalized into the forefront of decision-making.
His acclaimed book, ‘Lal Chowk’, on the complex and contested politics of Kashmir, has been widely recognized for its depth and insight. Writing with an intersectional lens, he explores the interlinkages of social and climate justice in contemporary struggles.
Currently, Rohin leads initiatives on agroecology and just transition, advancing community-led alternatives to extractive economies. A recipient of prestigious international fellowships on transition initiatives in the Global South, he has authored several book chapters and delivered inspiring guest lectures at leading universities and institutions.
While his work spans from the local to the global, his heart and commitment remain deeply anchored in the struggles and aspirations of local communities.
We believe that as the Anil Chaudhary Research Fellow, Rohin Kumar will carry forward the legacy of PEACE and “Culture of Questioning” in building just and sustainable alternatives for our times.
