
Aanchal Kapur

Aanchal Kapur has been working in social development and human rights for 28 years. Her expertise includes training and facilitation, process documentation, communication and design, program planning, organizational development, and event management. Aanchal works on gender and development, violence against women, labour, health, education, disability, child rights, social justice, peace, environment, and livelihood. She facilitates learning and action among nonprofits using creative strategies for social change, emphasizing communication, networking, and advocacy.
Aanchal has worked across grassroots India, South Asia, and internationally with development workers, activists, community members (especially women), students, NGO management, trade union members, government functionaries, and staff of bilateral and UN agencies. She has worked with organizations like PRIA, ActionAid, Oxfam, UN Women, UNFPA, ICRW, Breakthrough, Sama, Jagori, WISCOMP, and others. In 1999, Aanchal founded KRITI: a development praxis and communication team, offering a creative space for action on rights issues. Aanchal holds an MSc. in Development Studies (Gender, Social Policy, and Planning) from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Master’s in Political Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Aanchal has been a board member of PEACE since October 15, 2010, though her association with Anil Chaudhary dates back to their time together at PRIA in the 90s.
